Excellence Redefined: PIPL Lyceum Ranked Best Private School in Lviv for the Second Year Running
Based on the official 2024 National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) results, the Prime Innovative Private Lviv Lyceum (PIPL Lyceum) has once again secured its position as the top-performing private school in Lviv.
We spoke with the team and alumni to uncover the secrets behind their success and the effectiveness of their exam preparation system.
A Mission Beyond Academics
“PIPL Lyceum is a space for students in grades 5-11. Our mission is to raise a new Ukrainian intellectual elite—the driving force for future global change,” says Nadiya Dubchenko, Head of the Lyceum. “We focus on a multifaceted education, seeking ways to individualize learning. We believe school must be a safe environment for every child’s first life experiments.”
Beyond its rigorous academic core, the Lyceum offers a formational program that develops students outside the classroom. Through social projects, volunteer initiatives, elective courses, international expeditions, and individual mentorship, students gain diverse experiences which they reflect upon with trusted adults.
The Strategy Behind the Scores
When it comes to the crucial 11th-grade year, the Lyceum employs a data-driven, empathetic strategy.
“We understand that getting into a dream university is a priority, so we’ve developed a precise NMT preparation strategy,” explains Nataliia Malyk, Director of PIPL Lyceum and Ukrainian Language teacher. “We divide students into small groups based on their learning pace. This ensures no one is bored and no one is left behind.”
A standout feature is the simulated NMT testing. Students take computerized tests in the exact format of the real exam: two hours per two subjects with a 20-minute break. “Afterward, we analyze every test together so each student understands their gaps and sees their tangible progress,” Malyk adds.
Voices of Success: Alumni Perspectives
Oleksa Khita, 2023 Graduate, now a sophomore at Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU): “I knew since 8th grade I wanted to attend UCU. I started preparing in September of my senior year. We took many tests to close knowledge gaps and track progress—it was highly motivating. You don’t need to spend every night buried in books to get a high score; you just need steady, consistent work and the desire to learn.”
Sofia Sydor, 2024 Graduate, now a freshman at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy: “I had zero surprises on the actual NMT because the format was already second nature to us thanks to the practice at the Lyceum. My advice to future graduates: focus on the process and don’t forget to rest. If you are too exhausted by the end, your result will show it. Give yourself time to recharge!”
